ESSAY QUESTION

Many different characters in the play are persuaded to do things they would not do for their own accord. Thus, this is so in the book entitled 'Much Ado About Nothing' when Benedick was persuaded to Beatrice, Beatrice was peruaded to love Benedick, Maraget was persuaded to sleep with Barachio, Do John set a plan for Claudio and Benedick was force to revenge Claudio. This essay will also focus on ways how persuasion affect the course of the plot.

Benedick thought that he and Beatrice had no connection whatsoever and he would never lok upon Beatrice has his wife. To his surprise, his own colleges Claudio, Dom Pedro and Lenato peruaded him secretly of how  Beatrice wishes to be with him. they even chose to talk about it when they knew that he was in the position of hearing. They made up lies of how constantly, about at least twenty times for the night she talked about him and even wrote letter but he must not know how flattered she is about him.

Similarly, Beatrice was persuaded by Hero, Ursla and Maraget of how in love Benedick was with her while pretending that they were gossiping about her. The women were so convincing and wanted ther plan to go through smoothly they suggested that she should not have one hint of a bit of knowledge about his love for her. Of course, the way in which Beatrice reacted shocked the readers because no thought that  she could get so intimiated by love especially when she posist that her ideal man must come from heaven.

Another situation in which a character was persuaded is when Barachio got Maraget to sleep with him. He had her to pretented to be Hero while they were having sexual intercourse at Hero's bedroom window. One may say that she was not persuaded and it was her own idea to make love with Barachio. While this may be partially true, it still have its effect when we look at the importance of honor. She defiled her self to a man that  she was not married to and he did not respest her since he had the intention but when through with the plan. Unlike, a woman, a man could defend his honor and that of his family by fighting in abattle or duel while a man may fight for the honor of the woman so that she could restore her honor.

Further,  Don John persuaded Claudio in such a dottish way. He made him believe that the womean that he was about to be married to is cheating on him with another man before the night of their wedding. Indeed, he was terrified on the morning of the wedding, more precisely at the alter that he denied of wanting to married her because she was unclean and a deciever.

Due to the situation between Claudio and Hero Beatrice tried to persuaded Benedick to revenge Claudio because of what he had done to Hero. She knew that Hero was innocent. Eventually, Benedick accepted the deal but he did not do anything since Hero was proven innocent.

Consequently, persuasion affected the course of the plot since Benedick and Beatrice got married despite thier hatred for each other. The plan with Maraget stemmed to every other situation which led to the plot. For example, Claudio and Hero because it drawn them closer together and indeed they were married. It also help Claudio to trust Hero and their relationship can be stronger.

In conclusion, Shakespeare used many of his characters to faced persuasion that they would do on their own accord. It was seen among Claudio and Hero, Benedick and Beatrice, Barachio and Don John and Maraget.  As a reader, we can further stated that  their persausion enhance the play to bring joy and happines in the cahracters family and personal lifes.

ESSAY

Essay Question: Betrayal is a theme introduced at the very beginning of the play. The constant stream of betrayal affect the out come of the plot and the characters.

Betrayal is a theme introduced at the very beginning of the play entitled 'Much Ado About Nothing.' This constant stream of betrayal affect the out come of the plot as well as the characters in the play. These characters can be consider as Claudio, Hero, Beatrice, Benedick and Leonato.

Eventually, this constant stream of betrayal affect the out come of the plot as well as some characters. As for Claudio, he was betrayed by Don John and his servant, Barcahio. Don John, was a villian and most precisely the prince brother, Don Pedro. He was always  seen to do wrong. He even blame himself for being who he is. He was thinking that is brother was going to married hero, so he made up a plot to frame him, but unluckily it caught Claudio. Claudio was shock when he saw Hero, who was rather Margaret, having sexual intercourse at her window. He was furious but rather kept it a secret to embarrass his soon to be bride, Hero. Also, as a reader we can say that she betray his trust.

Similarly, Hero was also betrayed by Claudio and his father Leonato. She was betrayed by Claudio when he shame her at the alter on the day of their wedding. He wrongfully accused her of sleeping with Barachio at her window. He claim that he would not married her. This affected both of them positively and negatively. Negatively, it affect them because Claudio lost the lady that he wishes to married and Hero lost her humor as a woman of the society. Positively, at the end in spite of the obstacles, it brought them closer and it even show that Hero was indeed honorable and that he can trust her in the future.

In terms of her father, he betrayed her daughter by not trusting all when they were so close as a father and child. He total saw her as impure and that she brought great amount of embarrassment on him as a man who is honorable in the society. He even when to the extend of denying her daughter.

Likewise, Hero betrayed her father of be accuse as being impure by making love with another man. A  father that cherish his child would never want to hear that his child is a victim of impurity. Even though, we can say that he should know his daughter so well still do change the fact that thing do not happen. We can not blame him to whether to believe if she was pure or not. It could be true.

Another betrayal is to plot the love of Benedick and Beatrice without their knowledge. They betrayed them by knowing that they hated each other. Beatrice was in shock because in her whole life she knew that Benedick and her were like cats and dogs always trying bit at each other. they could not even see eye for an eye much less for Benedick to love her.

As for Benedick, he was rather amazed himself to know that Beatrice could really say something out of her mouth as love, especially for him. He even confess that they did not have any connection at all.

Consequently, both of them were betrayed but this betrayal was different because it joined them together and led to as far as marriage.
In conclusion, William Shakespeare in the play 'Much Ado About Nothing' deals with the theme of betrayal in the beginning of the play that affected the plot. We have notice that these betrayal change lives both positively or negatively. Indeed, it was a betrayal as reader that we enjoy because thing changes for the better and so the best.
